Birds of Paradise Lampshades was founded in 1988 by Marilyn Hodgkinson. Initially her focus was on making custom period lampshades for clients which later bloomed into her Masterworks Collection. In July 2008, Marilyn passed away after a hard fought battle with Breast Cancer.

All of lamps in the Masterworks creations are one of a kind lamps that represent Marilyn’s unique flare and style.

Delicate, stunning and over the top are a few adjectives to describe this grand spelter table lamp from the 1940’s. Maidens are depicted in cameos around the urn of the lamp which are then complimented with a seated cherub and arched maiden on the ornate scroll handle. The elaborate silk habutai shade rises from the spout of the urn and is adorned with richly embroidered panels and deep 4" cream fringe. Although the lamp and shade is an elaborate affair, the neutral tones of both make it a suitable fit for many interiors.
